While I extend my condolences to her friends and loved ones who are no doubt grieving the loss of someone they cared about, I am nonetheless thankful to see her reign in California come to an end. In many ways, Senator Feinstein was the embodiment of the geriatric, authoritarian tyrant that infested her generation. She spent her entire career trying to erode the liberty of people she despised (and pitched a fit when that erosion of liberty was directed at her and her colleagues) though thankfully, she largely failed, especially as it relates to gun control.
While I'm under no illusion that Governor Newsom's appoint--himself an authoritarian cut from the same cloth--will be any improvement, I take solace in knowing that for a brief moment, there will be one less authoritarian in our government.
Here's to you, Senator Feinstein. I just might go buy a new AR-15 in your honor.
