I’ve been told interfering with an official congressional proceeding is the worst crime in the history of humanity, and that everyone associated with such an insurrection should be enthusiastically prosecuted and have their life destroyed.
Exactly. I expect Merrick Garland to fast-track this one and maybe Fani Willis can somehow tie this to RICO laws in Georgia and prosecute Jamaal Bowman in Fulton County for this horrible threat to Democracy as well.
Yasmin Vossoughian, with a straight face, reports on the fire alarm pulling "'Congressman Bowman did not realize he would trigger a building alarm as he was rushing to make an urgent vote, the congressman regrets any confusion,' just to clarify some things on that."
Seriously?
Interrupting precedings or not, pulling a fire alarm is still a big deal. Usually done by some school kid prankster.
Him pleading ignorance is insulting to grown adults everywhere.

YOU are now deceiving by repeating an out of context lie from the right wing propaganda . MSNBC was clearly quoting from comments provided by Bowman's staff. They were not defending or explaining or excusing his behavior.
I suspect Bowman was trying in a rather stupid way to buy time for Dems to review the 45 day proposal dropped on them by the GOP minutes before their votes were being begged for. It was not necessary, of course, as Jeffries was able to delay things pending review. Bowman was an embarrassment in a otherwise satisfying day of victory for House Democrats over the Magabillies.

He tried to interfere with the workings of the Federal Government.

There's a word that describes that action.
Given that this is now trending in the media, Dems are going to look bad in the process, even if no punishment is meted out against Bowman ultimately. Beforehand the narrative was simply the GOP in disarray. Now there's an added news headline of a Dem congressman pulling the fire alarm in the House in an effort to stop an official legislative vote on funding the government.
He needs one of those 72 hour psychiatric holds, and then moved to jail.
