Two issues I can see with it.

1. Egypt is not keen on hiving it back. It will need to deal with the Hamas and other radicals who probably will turn on them.

2. If they do take it back and the Palestinians stay in Gaza, they will have to police these people / terrorists. Otherwise a massacre like this will lead to an Israeli retaliation against Gaza, which will be an Israeli- Egypt war. They still have memories from the 1967 war and they want nothing to do with Palestinians, Israel or the Gaza strip. They depend a lot on tourism, which will be affected severely if they get into a war with Israel. Egypt is a wily coyote, not a stupid turkey.

Victory looks like Hamas destroyed.
Ultimately, Israel's goal is peace; to stop the genocide being committed against her citizens. Considering that the majority of the Palestinians support Hamas, provide the funding, man power and hide them after they kill civilians....I'm not sure how you "destroy Hamas" without removing the Palestinian people's ability to wage war against Israel.

Israel made an error. When they controlled the Saini, they should have used the southern part as a refuge camp for Palestinians, along the border with Egypt and the canal. Kept the center as a buffer zone between them. And maintained a security zone in the North, protecting their own border. If Egypt wanted Saini back, they could deal with the issue.

Jordan doesn't want the West Bank either. They told Israel to keep it. Jordan has 3.2 million Palestinians already, and they have caused them lot of trouble. Lebanon took some, and they instigated a civil war there, which lasted years and years and drove out much of the Christian population (they had lot of Christians). So, no, Egypt doesn't want Gaza, - no one does, so Israel has to keep it. If they had known what was going to happen , they would not have taken it from Egypt in the first place. Now its almost as if they have to fight a war and the loser has to take it.

Hamas is of course guilty of killing innocent civilians, the response should not be to destroy the lives of innocent bystanders.

The international community is asking for caution and an appropriate response, the last thing Israel needs to do is to turn the tide against them by overreacting.
Do you have some inside intel you'd like to share with us that shows they are indiscriminately blowing up random civilian buildings with the goal of not focusing on targeting Hamas, who has also oppressed the Palestinian people? It doesn't matter what Israel does, many in the "international community" will continue to target Israel regardless of what they do. That just shows bias and lack of awareness.

True. There have been polls more recently that put support for Hamas at over 60%. As to the accuracy of those polls, I have no real idea. But face it, if the vast majority of the Palestinian people opposed Hamas and stood against them, there would be no Hamas.

Iran is ratcheting up the threats of military intervention, before the impending ground invasion of Gaza.

"Hamas capabilities improved dramatically" said retired General Petraeus. Does anyone believe the Biden Administration will help Israel follow the money? Was it our "friends" the Saudis? What it American progressives? Who helped them and betrayed the US and Israel? It's not just money but it is intelligence they have never demonstrated to have access to before ever. I have no faith that our current administration will make any attempt to find the truth.

What I do expect is somehow they will blame MAGA or Putin.
