They'd better hope Trump doesn't see that.

Will the Democrats expand the Supreme Court after the new supermajority they’ll win in 24’ as a result of all that’s happening now? This looks less impossible day by day

From your mouth to God’s ears, but no … only us super freaks who pay close attention to politics are even going to remember this happened come next November.

In fact, now that I look at that video, he seems entirely too level-headed, academic and cerebral to fit the modern-day MAGA party. If he gets the nod I'd be willing to bet he eventually starts to do stuff to annoy the MAGA faction.

I doubt it. At the end of the day, he’ll refuse to certify legitimate election results that displease Orange Strongman, which is all OS cares about. This one seems to have enough polish on him to maybe fool the true Republicans into voting for him.

You people think so strangely. This hurts the Democrats.

McCarthy made so many deals to become speaker. One of the deals was allowing one member to file a motion to vacate. One member has never been allowed to do that before. And he didn't deliver what they wanted which is why these 8 republicans voted him out. He made deals because he was desperate to become speaker. This is much worse because no republican seems to be making deals. They either have the votes or not. They aren't willing to promise things they can't deliver to get votes.

Latest from the roll call vote: No one in the room voted no. There were 3 "present" votes. 22 reps were not present for the vote.

Johnson left the room and told the press "Our intention is to go to the House floor tomorrow and make this a official… we are united.”

The entire tweet is worth quoting:

GOP Speaker candidate Mike Johnson once said Nancy Pelosi and Democrats “are not the enemy” and supports working with them.

Johnson: “We’re going to try to work with Democrats. …Nancy Pelosi …is a very kind and generous person. She’s been great to me.”
