An amicus brief filed in that dead on arrival political stunt is not what I would call a hands on role - more of a bone to the boneheads.
Johnson voted against certifying the election and was involved, he is also just as conservative as Jordan which made him acceptable to the Gaetz wing of the party. However, he did not take as active of a role as Jordan, is not the bomb thrower and not nearly as controversial as Jordan, that ultimately made him a bit more acceptable to the Bacon wing of the party. The combination of the two basically made him a compromise candidate.

He not only drafted a brief - he also worked closely with Trump to whip his fellow Republicans into signing in to it. He took an active role in the failed coup. I’m sure should the need arise, he will again step up to the plate to overturn the rule of the people to install Trump by extra Constitutional means.

And one who may not survive the vote to fund the government/Ukraine. He has to choose and either way could get him another motion to vacate.

I guess I am missing the goal or point of throwing out the previous speaker and voting in Johnson. Seems like an even swap and nothing will move along or change at all. We already had a House that was not going to get anything done, looks like that remains the case.
I guess I don't understand how this improved or changed anything in the house.
An overwhelming victory for the GOP and the country. Now let’s get back to impeaching Biden.
Yes! What a relief!
