Is anyone even surprised about this? Are we becoming a police state?

Federal prosecutors spied on Congress in search for leaks, now DOJ is being investigated for it

"The Justice Department’s secret targeting of congressional investigators is a new low in the agency’s sordid history of abusing its authority to evade accountability," Iowa Sen. Charles Grassley, the top Republican on the Senate Budget Committee, told Just the News on Monday evening.

"Ever since the botched Crossfire Hurricane investigation came to light, the FBI and Justice Department have gone to great lengths to cover up and distract from their own malfeasance."

All of those three-letter agencies were capture by Obama. Trump's biggest mistake, IMO, was not purging those agencies early on in his admin.

We are indeed becoming a police state. Dinesh D'Souza has made a documentary about it. Look it up.

Actually, I think it was his second biggest mistake. First was on day one not coming out and saying that he listened to Pelosi and Shumer and the others and agrees with them that Comey needs to go and he's been fired. Had he done that, most likely no impeachment because they tried to impeach based on retaliation because he didn't like Comey. He should have turned it on them and then purged the 3 letter alphabet soup agencies.

I'm not so sure. There were enough swamp creatures running the DOJ that they would have made sure to use the DOJ to destroy Trump.

If Trump gets a 2nd chance, I doubt he'll make the same mistake twice. The DOJ and FBI know it too, which is why they are doing all they can to put Trump in prison. I think they'll fail.

This occured back in 2017, which Trump appointee was in this revolving door position? Oversight has always been an element of Government Agencies of course the Trump Administration spent 4 years removing many of these safeguards so his crew could operate outside the lines without being caught.

The article makes no mention of actual wrongdoing or that the information was even used but the timing seems appropriate to take the spotlight off of 3 ring side show that is going on in Congress. Not to mention the sinking ship that is the Trump legal issues playing out every day.

When Trump goes to jail it will be because of his own illegal actions and statements, Karma baby...

"now DOJ is being investigated for it"

And based on the past few years, who is going to investigate the DOJ?

Sorry, but you can only "purge" appointees.
