The idea that those twelve people couldn't, or even wouldn't, be corrupted is ridiculous on the face of it.

I suspect we shall see a lot of these equal power sharing ideas as voters realize that they themselves are not in favor of banning books, outlawing abortion, or cuts to Social Security.

I know someone who suggested this during the 1992 presidential campaign - have Bush do foreign policy, Clinton be responsible for domestic policy, and let Perot focus on economic policy.
I remember seeing a WaPo article at that time about just that.

IIrc the boolean circles of foreign, domestic and economic policy overlap somewhat. Under such a government, to what level should they overlap as far as actual execution?

OUr system just needs tweeking:

term limits
death penalty for political corruption
prevent those who live off the government from voting
eliminate lobbying
frozen financial assets while serving in office
only citizens vote (now that is bizarre that we even have to bring that up)
all voting must be done in person, except for military members
Ok i'll bite, and what did the Clintons actually do?

We have term limits on the President already
Death penalty, does that mean Trump should be executed?
So you want to disenfranchise all military, government employees and social assistance recipients from voting?
Restrict lobbying not eliminate, groups like the NRA have far too much political persuasion with elected officials.
Freeze assets, that would have killed the last one in office.
That law is already in place
Disagree, sore losers are only complaining where they lost even though lesser party positions won in the same location.

I prefer the republican form, where all men are created equal, and have Creator endowed rights that governments were instituted to secure - not tax, regulate nor trespass. And absent consent of the governed, are limited to adjudicating disputes, prosecuting criminals, and defending against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
Of course, if you consented, shut up, sit down, pay and obey.
Which do you want?

Some of these comments are näive beyond belief. Near the end of the Constitutional Convention Benjamin Franklin was asked what type of government the delegates had created. His answer was “A republic, if you can keep it."

Two centuries later, half the people living in this country today are so uneducated they literally have no clue about the meaning of Franklin’s comment. As long as their credit/debit card works, they couldn’t care less who governs them.

In spite of ourselves, the system in place is self correcting, works better then any other nation I'm aware of, has survived turmoil many times, remains the light of the world for the oppressed and is the greatest nation ever....by far.

It is run by committee now.

there are no democrats, just far left extremists flying democrat colors. So there are no democrats available to be onthe 'committee and the we are in an existential crisis where there can only be winners and losers. No compromise possible.

How do you compromise when the hijacked democrats claim the border is secure???? What is the mid position?
How do you compromise when the 'democrats' and intel agencies corrupt the elections and try to unseat a president??

Late 90s Medium Sylvia Brown predicted the country would be run by committee in the early 21st century. A Greek style forum. The world knows Biden is not runnning the country and can't even read the scripts handed him. More evidence of corruption when people vote for a president and don;t get one.

No. We need the 3 separate powers, with the exec branch run by one person, and a vice person.

And the Supreme Court, and Congress.
But sadly were not getting the best and the brightest in those places right now.
