I think it is a travesty that when a union strikes, the issues and salaries and benefits are no longer published. That was the start of the downfall of unions because it opened the door for abuse.
I think you fail to realize that both major parties are supporting the corporations. The labor unions when created were led by socialists...and they still are socialist in mentality. How else could one explain the discouragement of work beyond the quota, and encouragement of a uniform salary for everyone...it's not a coincidence that the socialists and communists encourage anyone in fields with unions to join the union and take an active role in leading it.

I think it's a disgrace when a union strikes demanding things that the market isn't prepared to offer and ultimately harms the company (such as the job-bank in the auto unions)...or the teachers unions striking. Shameful.

Unions are absolutely necessary to create a fair situation between investors and workers. Our current problems have been created by government destruction of unions and mindless support of the financial sector. Workers need to be in a union or they will be shamelessly exploited to the advantage of the companies.
I believe we need the “ONE BIG WORLDWIDE INDUSTRIAL UNION” so the financiers cannot run away from their responsibility to provide a good living to all the workers of the world.

I absolutey agree.. Companies run away from their responsibility to provide a good living wage to workers of the world. Thats the reason they exist and if they cant provide a good living wage, then they should be put out of business... Causing a 25% unemployment rate or higher, thereby lowering the living wages of all even below Mexican standards..

Unions are destructive to the market. They create a situation where workers actually work less for more money and benefits. I do not belong to a union, if I feel I am not being properly compensated I may choose to leave and find a new job..THAT is the market at work.

MamaBee - and what do you do when there are no other jobs you would desire or be able to do? Unions restore the fairness to a corporately destorted market.

The kids, and their foster parents, should recieve the welfare payments. The cult members, male and female, should be jailed for child abuse, fraud and tax evasion.

How typically hypocritical of people like yourself - you are telling me that Newt didn't 'lie' to his wife everytime he came home from screwing his mistress? HAHAHA!

There will ALWAYS be jobs for someone to do...work is work...a paycheck is a paycheck; older generations knew this. It seems now that people feel entitled to a certain line of work, "I can't do that, it's undesireable".

As I said, there will always be jobs for someone to do...there are so many jobs people are coming to this country illegally to do them.

Unions gang up on management to force terms of employment they wouldn't be given anywhere else; demanding benefits and a salary the marketplace cannot afford or sustain unless higher prices are charged (or in the case of teachers, taxes are raised). Then, the union members have the audacity to complain and/or strike about having to pay any amount toward healthcare premiums, give me a break.

Outrageous, they need to get jobs. How on earth a FLDS is MAYOR and gets appointed by two Governors is appalling. How in this day and age they can get away w/ their behavior is just another tragedy. If the general public wanted to drive through Hildale or Colorado City, we don't even have the freedom to do so, they just follow and run us out of there. These are not nice people. They behave the way they want and society says it is okay because there is no consequence. It's time it came to a stop and the Feds need to open offices in Hildale, Colorado City and wherever they are! Show these people they live where they have to follow laws.
