Inflation happens, but is there a specific reason why fast food prices went up a few weeks ago??
My local McD's increased prices here in SoCal. Is it the whole nation - and is it all the fast food chains?
California passed some kind of law about fast food workers - I don't know if that would explain the whole thing.
I gave up on fast food. Besides the price, it's all greasy anyway.
I don't live in CA, but that seems to be the general thought. I've seen stories about places limiting operating hours and other things to accommodate the new $20 minimum wage in CA.
Whether or not it is an actual, realized cost to business right this minute (or the day it started), it will likely be and they are going to reap the benefits as long as they can.
Same with inflation...cost of everything went up, prices went up...but when the costs go down, you don't see a corresponding reduction in prices.
I get my weekly Qtr pounder w/chees, medium fries and medium drink for $6 using the McD app. It's $6.36 including tax.
Yep. People keep saying it's based on the state or whatever ever but all prices in-store or drive-through are up regardless of the state you are in from what I see when traveling.
And all the deals are on the App, they are training us to use the app and have AI Bots make all the food. Also, the closer your store is to a major interstate then prices are likely higher, even if its sh@Tkicker Alabama, it will still be higher if by the interstate.
Would businesses increase their prices six months before a wage increase? Looks like it.
Subway is a problem - $7.19 for a six-inch sandwich??
Supercuts (the haircutting chain) is really ramping it up. A few weeks ago it was $25 plus a tip.
I get my hair cut at a Korean barber school up the street where I live. I only need a 1.5 clipper cut. It is $7.99 and I give the student a $2 tip. I am a cheapskate boomer.
