Or knowing who these people are, maybe it's not a surprise

House Jan. 6 Committee deleted more than 100 encrypted files days before GOP took majority: sources

The former House Select Committee on Jan. 6 deleted more than 100 encrypted files from its probe just days before Republicans took over the majority in the House of Representatives, Fox News Digital has learned.

...
Sources told Fox News Digital that Thompson had told Loudermilk that the select committee would turn over four terabytes of archived data, but that the new committee only received approximately two terabytes of data.

...
Fox News Digital has learned that Loudermilk’s committee hired a digital forensics team to scrape hard drives to determine what information they were not given.

The forensics team, according to sources familiar with their search, determined that 117 files were both deleted and encrypted. Sources said those files were deleted on Jan. 1, 2023 – just days before Thompson’s team was required to transfer the data to the new committee.

Fox News Digital has learned the forensics team has recovered all 117 deleted and encrypted files. Now, Loudermilk is demanding answers and passwords to access the data.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Pelosi, et al, were attempting to hide with the evidence they'd tried to destroy.

Seems like destruction of evidence to me.

"House Administration Oversight Subcommittee Chair Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., sent a letter to former Select Committee Chair Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., demanding he provide answers and passwords for the data, which was deleted against House rules"

nothing to see here, move along.

Exactly. I'm surprised to see that Yahoo news put this story out there.

Judges will order these records be restored, and turned over...eventually.

Nothing is ever deleted forever. It's deleted from some devices and servers, but not all devices or all servers.

Remember how most of Hillary's deleted emails surfaced later on?

There is no truth to the rumor that the Democrats hired Rose Mary Woods at the last minute, to accidentally step on the "Record Only" pedal attached to the recording machine that the files were encrypted on.

Delay delay delay. Keep 'revelations' or 'previously withheld information' out of public hands at all cost

I guess they took "paperwork reduction act" seriously

That's ok. Remember we lost all that paperwork about missing government money when the trade center building went down,
It was gone..just gone. The government didn't make any copies.

See..not like this hasn't been done before.
