I know where my former therapist lives. There's no non-creepy way to say that, and that's precisely the point.

For example, a survey by Doximity indicatedopens in a new tab or window that approximately "85% of doctors worry about whether patients will access their personal information online." Although some efforts have been made to mitigate this, such as Doximity's own privacy service DocDefenderopens in a new tab or window, the problem is far from being fully resolved.

Unfortunately, we live in a society in which even our most basic rights to privacy have been completely disregarded by the powers that be. Why do we tolerate this? Why haven't we found a better solution yet? I'm writing this in hopes that we will.
This is truly frightening in today's world!

No one has privacy! Doctors, politicians and you

I am retiring soon and this is a big concern for me because in my profession you have to have a publicly available address. While working, of course, everyone uses their business address. But I won't have that when I retire. I plan to contact my professional board to see if there is an exception to the rule when one's license is inactive but not cancelled. If not I'm going to pay for a PO box so I don't have to make my home address publicly available on the board's website. Ridiculous. I wonder how many professions have this same rule.

Pretty much anyone can be found online through an easy web search, as long as you know their first & last names and city of residence. As a hospital nurse every note I write on a patient’s chart can be accessed by the patient and family through MyChart with my full name, so if a crazy person wanted to stalk me or (more likely) the cute young nurse they crushed on during their stay, they can easily do so. But it’s all in the name of customer service, which is the #1 priority of the c-suite.
