People the world over are eating too much food.

You have to stop, go out for a walk and drink water.

No. It's people using food as entertainment. They need to find something else to do besides EAT for fun. It's a personal decision to get instant gratification instead of longer term satisfaction. It's laziness.

You Leftists want to put the blame on everything but the individual.

It's YOU who decide what to eat and how much.

The garment industry calls it Vanity Sizing and has been going on for decades. Make the sizes bigger so women will feel better about themselves.

My wedding dress from 1974 is a size 6. I now wear a size 0. All the WEIGHT I have lost???? Back in the 50's Marilyn wore a size 12, and would be a size 4 in today's sizing. Bought a pair of designer jean online in Petite 0. HUGE on me.

Years ago I used to joke that at the rate they were going with the bigger sizes, I would be shopping in the Kiddie Department by time I was a Senior. I did read something about Asian Sizing which said they were cut smaller than AMERICAN sizing. What does that tell you?

We are still subject to the laws of physics. These laws are common sense.

If you eat it you must burn it, if you don't burn it, you will store it. Increased caloric intake with decreased energy usage, results in weight gain.

If you have to lose 20lbs just to be fat, you're obese. However a few extra pounds never hurt anyone.

"These media sources have a slight to moderate liberal bias. They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by appeals to emotion or stereotypes) to favor liberal causes. These sources are generally trustworthy for information but may require further investigation. See all Left-Center sources.

I suppose that there is some irony in that. That when we are hit with famine, they will last longer than us not so plumb ones.

Carbs don't kill you. You kill you. It's not rocket science. Eat in moderation.

Ten years ago, when my niece was 16 I took her to Starbucks. She ordered an ice latte and I watched her toss in four liquid sugars.

Today she's 26 and I'm not surprised she's obese.

I honestly don't see a lot of obese people...I live in MA and people here seem to be pretty healthy/fit. I'm not saying there are non but there seems to be far more in other parts of the US.

I also am surprised sometimes by what is considered obese...it seems like health standards aren't very forgiving. I can remember people (mostly men) who somewhat of a belly saying their dr said they're obese. Obese means very fat or overweight....but it seems like even if someone is a bit overweight they are medically obese. It's hard for some people to have no fat.
