The Biden administration is again delaying issuance of a final rule banning the sale of menthol cigarettes.

"This rule has garnered historic attention and the public comment period has yielded an immense amount of feedback, including from various elements of the civil rights and criminal justice movement," HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra said in a very brief statementopens in a new tab or window posted Friday on the HHS website. "It's clear that there are still more conversations to have, and that will take significantly more time."

They would still vote democrat. Now, if Biden banned malt liquor too, that could be a game changer.

Supposedly, menthol cigarettes are more addicting than regular cigarettes.

Because the flavoring makes them taste better, enticing youngsters to smoke. Other flavors were banned previously.

Because they believe menthol flavor attracts a higher rate of young people taking up smoking. Once menthols are banned, they will come after vapes next. At the same time, they believe it's perfectly fine to have a pot shop on every corner.

Vapes have already had some banning done on them.

When I first heard about the potential ban a few months ago, I wondered the same thing. It seems that menthols cigarettes are supposedly more popular in the black community than any other type. Why, I don't know, other than possibly advertising targets blacks. But I don't recall seeing a cigarette ad in a long time - maybe years. No idea where they get the data that shows blacks are more apt to choose menthol than any other race. The whole thing sounds like pandering to me.
