There are Americans and numerous other nationals being held by Hamas under dangerous situations. A strong democratic power like the US is and should be committed to protecting their citizens worldwide. Currently there is no direct diplomatic/military pressure from the US on Hamas to release the American hostages except supplying bombs to Israel to bombard Gaza randomly/blindly with no plan/interest of recusing the hostages.

If you don't have highly credible intelligence as to where the hostages are, you don't have rescue operation. You have a waste of troops.

Plus, historically, Israel has the best reputation for rescuing hostages.

The USA has to do a balancing act between the Arab Muslims and the Israeli Jews. Part of that extends to the UN. Israel is NOT included in the UN group for the Middle East, it is included in the group covering Europe. The USA Central Command that has command authority over US troops in the Middle East does not cover Israel, that is handled by the European Command. So other than equipment, the USA has never sent combat troops to help Israel. We do not want the Arab nations to get mad and cut off the oil......

War makes money
Defense contractors are producing
Money is being cycled into the economy
Government jobs are opening
Unemployment and Inflation are further masked

It's business...

It profits no one in the White House for this punic conflict to end so abruptly, even if blood must be shed for a few $$$

First. Where are the hostages? Hamas has them hidden away in tunnels that stretch for miles. No Hollywood Rambo BS operation going to happen

Secondly Are you happy to get the US into yet another middle east war? Iraq and Afghanistan weren't enough for you?

Thirdly Israel needs to accept a two state solution and not expect the Palestinians to live packed together in a strip of land 25 miles long, stop building settlements on Palestinian West Bank land

Finally Jewish Americans should stay in the US and not reside in a place like Israel. If they choose to do then they have to take the risks

I think our spooks are probably good enough at their jobs that Americans would cringe at what they're capable of. But I also suspect the Israelis are better. And probably less worried about what people think.
