Is there anybody on this forum who believes that we are not going to have socioeconomic differences in the United States?

That rich people and poor people everywhere are going to live together and start mingling with each other on equal terms?

I find this idea fascinating.

Apparently, white people are racist when they demand more police and better schools... And white people are also racist when they decide to pack up and leave (or create their own city) so they can have better police and schools.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

In some cities or towns they do or have been before the HOA and new builds started their BS. You can go to Sarasota and see million dollar compounds and next block old Fl wooden simple homes and waterfront at that. This was the way we always lived, before developers started sleeping with the council members.

Because "educators" are as ignorant as they come when it comes to cause and effect. Poverty is an EFFECT, it is not a cause.

Nobody acts a certain way because they are poor. They are poor because they act a certain way.

Think about the observable fact that not just some, but many of the worst 100 schools in America are either among the highest if not THE highest funded schools in their area, on a $$/student basis. Cleveland City schools (as of 2022) spent more pupil than any other school system in NE Ohio, and had 11 of the worst 100 schools in the US. They have more money than anyone, with the worst results. If poverty is a cause, then wouldn't wealth be also? Shouldn't money buy results, if money = cause where human behavior is concerned?

Oh wait, that's right. Economic standing is an EFFECT, not a cause. Poverty doesn't cause dumbassery any more than wealth causes intelligence/wisdom. Human behavior leads economic standing, not the other way around. And circumstance of birth mean nothing in the US. We have no formal caste system, no royalty pecking orders, no fixed societal positions, and the proven fact is the MOST economically mobile group is the bottom income quintile. Geographic and genetic factors of birth are excuses, not causes. Too many millionaires "of color" to really argue otherwise. Poor people work at staying poor, same as rich people work at staying rich. Inconvenient, perhaps even ugly truth, but there it is.

So if rich folks in a neighborhood will and can split off away from those who aren't on their same behavioral wavelength...good for them.

Interesting how this new city west boundary is at the edge of Black neighborhoods in BR. It literally cuts out several others in its shape along the Interstate... and cuts out a couple others on its north border. To be fair, there is a majority white neighborhood called Parkview East (that contains a large cemetery) that is also "cut out".

The new city is pretty much a White city with a few pockets of Black subdivisions. The largest being located around Woodlawn High School.

Granted, I'm sure there are Black residents located in the "majority White" neighborhoods but this city is going to be probably 80% White or greater I would suspect.

Yeah, I know a "what's wrong with that" will be coming soon. This is just an observation.

Golly, I guess that's why this group of Baton Rouge residents voted to create their own city? To help their fellow Baton Route neighbors?

A win for freedom. We knew this was going to happen sooner or later, law abiding citizens are tired of the crime, wokeness, poor schools, and are finally taking matters into their own hands by creating their own city.
I don't blame them for wanting better schools and less crime.

They better prevent their new school district from instituting a "bussing" program or they will just import the problem kids they want to get away from.
