Are they saying every traffic stop winds up in vehicle search? The evidence of something else going is probably pretty clear in most cases. It could be drug smells or the driver or passenger has a visible gun.Or there is a warrant out for their arrest for other offenses.
I couldn't read the article but my city could be included on that list. It's literally been years since I've seen a cop dealing with a traffic violation. Sure, they'll set up their speed traps with half a dozen officers and pull people over during the morning rush hour but that's easy and profitable. The police brass used to go around to the different neighborhood associations for meet and greets but they've stopped doing that. If they ever resume, my first question I ask is why traffic laws aren't enforced anymore (though I can pretty well guess why).

This move by the Chicago DA is not actually surprising. Democrats have been decriminalizing crime for years to show how crime in their cities have been dropping.

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of how the black community views the world. It’s all through a tribal/racial us vs them lense. Their twisted world view is that the police represent the white people, the white people are trying to lock up as many black people as possible. Black people will turn a blind eye to criminals in their community, let black criminals off the hook on juries, black judges and prosecutors will allow black criminals off the hook. Always pay up to live in the burbs if you’re white. Cities are lost.
Laws are racist and should be ignored for those disproportionately breaking them. So is bad behavior in school. Again change rules. These are white supremacist ideals and not the ways of the dark people. Darker people need different rules, not the ones white man created just to trap and imprison others.. Getting guns out of the hands of actual criminals, despite their melatonin levels or any other intersectional identity politics nonsense is important in the general safety of other good people with high melatonin levels, but these idiots refuse to see that.

This is the only kind of DA that can get elected in that city and it's why crime is so high in cities like NYC, Chicago, and Oakland.
They get the DAs they want. And they want soft-on-crime DAs because they view crime as a way of life, not as something bad.
