Hundreds of years? How do you figure? It's been a couple hundred plus years. This country's Declaration of Independence was issued 1776. So I'd appreciate your explaining in greater depth how is it we haven't followed it for hundreds of years.

why the democrats will never push for a (real) impeachment of bush:

'Bush Lied'? If Only It Were That Simple.

let's see what rockefeller has been saying:

Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV (D-W.Va.), chairman of the Select Committee on Intelligence, set out to provide the official foundation for what has become not only a thriving business but, more important, an article of faith among millions of Americans. And in releasing a committee report Thursday, he claimed to have accomplished his mission, though he did not use the L-word.

"In making the case for war, the administration repeatedly presented intelligence as fact when it was unsubstantiated, contradicted or even nonexistent," he said

ok. sounds nice, senator, but it appears you also used the exact same intelligence, along with man many others to support the war:

Quote:
After all, it was not Bush, but Rockefeller, who said in October 2002: "There has been some debate over how 'imminent' a threat Iraq poses. I do believe Iraq poses an imminent threat. I also believe after September 11, that question is increasingly outdated. . . . To insist on further evidence could put some of our fellow Americans at risk. Can we afford to take that chance? I do not think we can."

Rockefeller was reminded of that statement by the committee's vice chairman, Sen. Christopher S. Bond (R-Mo.), who with three other Republican senators filed a minority dissent that includes many other such statements from Democratic senators who had access to the intelligence reports that Bush read. The dissenters assert that they were cut out of the report's preparation, allowing for a great deal of skewing and partisanship, but that even so, "the reports essentially validate what we have been saying all along: that policymakers' statements were substantiated by the intelligence."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/06/08/AR2008060801687.html

too bad the people out there aren't bright enough to realize that all this "impeach bush" talk is just talk and nothing more. if they attempted to hang bush, at least he was smart enough to sucker the dummies into the war by agreeing with it and supporting it from day one.

and, this includes obama who has voted quite a few times to fund the war efforts.

looks like the democrats are once again going to pull the wool over the left's eyes. you're a naive and gullible crowd and are good for every vote you can muster up, but in the end, the democrats are going to drop you like the plague.

I am new to these woods, but speak of high treason, I have never heard such high treason. A man goes to bat for this country, like no other in modern history, to protect American citizens from Muslim neo nazi's, people that are worse by far than nazi's, worse by far than Japanese Kama Kazis, worse by far than murdering pedophiles, and brought a destruction upon this country that is only symbolic, of the destruction possible, indeed plausible, indeed probable, and you want to impeach the only man with enough courage in twenty five years to protect what is evolving to be a brief legacy of whiners and capitulators. Woe is me, woe is us. Obama Oshwama, an empty suit form the top of his head to the bottom of his little toe. Get a life!

First Snow ball, welcome to the board.
Did you bring your flame retardant cloths.

Now to the most germane and salient point.

Bush lied to the American people. Bush lied to the American House and Senate.

Bush lied. Now wither or not you believe that series of statements or not is.............well the point is a very large portion of America does believe that Bush lied about the Iraq war reasons.
My daughter is just back from there. She earned a bronze star for her service and a purple heart for her injury from and IED. She is currently wearing a leg cast while the docs decide if surgery will or will not be needed.

Im a Republican and have been since I was a a grunt coming back from Vietnam. Im counted as one of the many many republicans who believe that Bush LIED about the Iraq war.

You will never change my mind on that one issue nor will you change many others.

I'm from Oklahoma, probably one of the most conservative states you will find and believe me a lot of us here believe that Bush Lied.

Its a sad legacy, a sad commentary indeed that a cause that was so righteous and so just from the horrific event of September 11th could devolve into the debacle of Iraq. And yet its a fact that a large percentage of Americans do believe that Bush LIED.

The destruction of the rights provided in the constitution is Bush's crime against America. The suspension of the Geneva Conventions has made us worse than what we seek to eradicate.
The war crimes Cheney, Rumsfeld, Bush, Rice and others are responsible for are many and they should be held accountable. The profit taking they have been responsible for makes the offenses of Martha Stewart and Michael Milken look minuscule.
Bush, Cheney, and Rice perpetuated Lies about Iraq with the intent to overthrow a foreign government and to empower the president with self appointed rights to get away with murder. These people have been solely responsible for the loss of over 4400 military personnel and over 1.2 million Iraqis. Now they turn our guns towards Iran. They must be stopped and held accountable.
I strongly suggest everyone watch the PBS Frontline program on Bush's War. It will detail many of the atrocities they are responsible for. These sanctimonious cowards have used fear to push the American's towards horrible acts. This regime needs to be stopped.
What in the world are you smoking?

I would encourage a vote by Congress to impeach or not. The Democrats hold the majority. What is the hold up?

I would think someone by now has the necessary documents already drafted up. Why not take a vote instead of endlessly yakking about it for the next 30 years.

I want to see the truth come out. The Democratic Congress owes it to the American public to vote yea or nay. I demand it.

Anyone out here disagree?

Hey, if Bill Clinton can be impeached for lying about a blow job, then Dubya should definitely be impeached for lying to get us into war. "When Clinton lied, nobody died....."

Hey. Tell that to your Congressman. Let's get the ball rolling. Urge them now to have a vote. If Bush lied, he should get it.

I don't remember from last time. Do we need 2/3 or a simple majority. If it is a simple majority, then it's a NO Brainer. The vote should take less time than this thread.

Or call them enemy combatants, lock them up in gitmo, forget about a trial. They already know they're guilty and so do we.

You're th e man Convert and God bless your wonderful daughter. Consider this for a moment to assuage your concerns regards Bush lying. Never, never, will this country be allowed to defend itself, if it must bring the leftist, defeatist faction ,kicking and screaming into the truth. It was my belief from the beginning that whether WMD was a reality or not, there was one compelling reason to go to war in Iraq. It did not have one hell of a lot to do at the time with freeing the poor Iraqi citizens, though that is a respectable sidebar. It had everything to do with putting boots on the ground in the heart of the nest. Discuss that vantage point with your daughter and see if she agrees. In the leftist ,hated words of bush, "bring it on". Guess what ,it worked. You fought in a war and I served at that time where 54,000+ died for far less agregious acts against Mother America. Ovr 400,000 died in WWll for a less agregious act or at least comparable act of agression against Mother America. How many times must a man or nation be attacked before it takes a disciplined and proportionate stand. Count the times the Cole, several airliners, Beirut, The first World Trade Center etc. Ask yourself, what if we had simply stopped at Afghanistan. What if we had just stopped at Guam. What if we had just stopped at France. Every generation has had to call up its best to defend the best. Bush has not been everything I would have wanted in many areas. Why spend billions on a military to guard the front door and throw the back door wide open. Politicians are by and large self serving narcissistic dirt bags. In my opinion we should hang a symolic 200 or so every four years just to keep their minds active. I am and have been an independent since the age of 18. I know one thing for absolute certain. We must remain Spartan in our resolve to protect this country. Muslim Fascist are more dangerous than Nazis. The result of your wonderful daughters proud service will deliver many years of positive results for America. Put all your heart and soul into the defeat of this leftist propaganist, American hater, Obama. He is the most dangerous little lamb America has ever encountered. He will fleece this country and the leftists sheeple will suffer with the rest of us. Trust your future to these "Simple Greens" and you can kiss it all goodbye.
