Hey, I'm funny and self-deprecating and nobody asked me to be Vice President and besides, Shooter Cheney is Bush's puppet master!

Default My understanding of Impeachment

Impeachment is the first stage of a two-stage process to removal.

Impeachment is the equivalent of an indictment or a legal statement of the charges.

Impeachment does not mean found guilty of anything.

In order to be removed from office, the official has to be "Convicted" of the charges by the Senate.

Clinton and Andrew Johnson were the only presidents impeached.

Impeachment happens... it has happened to other government officials.

Looks pretty accurate to me. Now why doesn't the Democratically controlled Congress Impeach Bush? It appears that all is needed is a simple majority which the Democrats have. Should be easy breezy. Right?

Indeed. Ramsey Clark's long and distinguished legislative career certainly seems to have convienced him and his followers so.

Ok.

If Ramsey Clark is right when he says:

"Impeachment is not a political question. Impeachment is a constitutional duty."

Then is the Democratic Congress violating its constitutional duty?

If so, then should they impeach themselves?

Am I missing something? Is my logic flawed?

That is a double violation. One for not impeaching Pres. Bush and another for not impeaching themselves.

Pardon me? Wake someone up with a false statement? Isn't that what we are accusing Pres. Bush of doing?

Why is it ok for some and not ok for others?

If that is the way you are going to communicate, can you please use a different font or color when you are telling the truth?
