Did a lot of civilians die during this war? Absolutely. But I hate when people say the US targets civilians because I would really like to know how people know that.
Over there, there are people who are your friend by day, and by night they're firing whistlers at your fob.
How come no one mentions when the insurgents will blow up a busy outdoor market of 60 people just to kill 4 American troops on patrol
66nexus, I hate when people say that about Nazi Germany as well. The Nazis had a job to do, and all those millions of people, well, they were just in the wrong place at the wrong time (especially the Jews). Oh well....
Just goes to show, don't get in the way of somebody on a mission, particularly if that mission is a Nazi Blitzkrieg !!

Maybe because that wouldn't be happening if we didn't invade a sovereign nation.
I hated that we went to Iraq (no one will ever convince me we needed to invade), but civilians were absolutely targeted by Saddam (Kurdish north).
There is such emphasis on preservation of life, and the insurgents know that. That's why they'll attack and then run to a mosque, dare we enter and we get the: 'we're disrespecting their religion'.
People never wonder that there are horrific war crimes even during the good wars like WWII

Don't remember seeing death camps while over there

You have no idea what you are talking about.. you care comparing Nazi Germany to the US???
Well considering that the people fighting are human beings and in this country there are people doing horrible crimes everyday in many cities across the country: i would say yes. As long as you have humans envolved you will have crimes but at least in war they are more understandable than in a society like ours.Heck look at the rape stats on college campuses alone that are rising every year to see that even under the best of circumsatnces humans are capable of horrible crimes against other humans.
