Why is this?
Have you watched TV in the last 5 years? Or stand in a grocery store checkout line. Ever see what young girls are wearing these days? With a capital SEX, its everywhere. Really what are you talking about? perhaps your not getting any?

America was once based on Judeo-Christian values. In the past 40 years we have started moving away from that, but in Europe they started abandoning Christian values long before we did in the US. Though I hope it never gets that far, what you see in Europe now, you will see in America in 10-15 years....if we make it that long.
By the way, if you want to see sex you have plenty of options. Why do social progressives want porn on every TV commercial?
I don't think for a second that America is 'sexually repressed'. We do have the highest infidelity rates in the world you know. Us Americans are a little bit more reserved about it, and aren't nearly as open about it is all. Some places that really emphasize sex, like Japan, actually have the lowest reports of sex crimes (rape, etc.). A lot of other countries make it an everyday thing so that it doesn't become a major issue like here in the US.
I can understand keeping the sexual commercials limited to the late hours though, wouldn't want a 3 year old to see a KY commercial during his cartoon hour...
When did good taste and living with dignity become "repression"?
Apparently when the Republican Party decided to add sex to their EEEEvil Hit List Of Things We Must Take Away From Everyone. I hardly ever get any sleep, because we right-wing stormtroopers are always up at ungodly hours to go yank yet another of life's pleasures away from The People. My lawn is suffering, my health is wrecked...but goshdarn it, our Repression Team is #1 in the state! WOOHOO!
You can tell that sexuality is repressed in the US because breasts are automatically associated with sex, whereas in many other cultures they are not. Breasts have a shock effect that do not translate in many other Westernized countries.
