"Resurrection City," a shantytown constructed as part of the Poor People's March on Washington, D.C., was closed down by authorities.

Just thought I would present this info. on today in history and see what people thought. I had never heard about this particular piece of history, until earlier today. I do however know that this type of situation occurred once before in our history, and the outcome was nowhere near as peaceful. Anyone with info., either first hand experience or just general knowledge please comment. Thanks.

PS Forgot, this is also the day the US Air Force released there official report on Roswell. June 24th, 1997 Now what do you all think about that subject. I myself am divided on the issue of aliens but I still think the government was at least no entirely truthful in their report.

What a miserable god-forsaken year 1968 was. The Tet Offensive. MLK killed. RFK killed. The Democratic convention in Chicago.

Sometimes it seemed like the only happy people in America were Detroit Tiger fans. Mickey Stanley. Norm Cash. Willie Horton. Al Kaline. Denny McLain. And Mickey Lolich, later the Donut King.

1968 and 2008 are very similar years with many parallels.

No way. Mickey L has been replaced by Krispy Kreme.

Corporatism reigns.
