Its to prevent people from leaving wiothut payinfg their bill. Many fear that rich peole will leave once Obama gets in and taxes the rich too much. They will get around it anyway.
Maybe they should apply this "philosophy" to businesses that leave the country!
+1. If the businesses that outsource and screw Americans over for a few more dollars in profit were taxed to the point of bankruptcy for leaving, or banned from selling their products here, they wouldn't do it.

I think I'm missing the correlation. Are you saying the dems in congress enacted that will hurt Joe 'middle class' schmo (much more than mr. uber elite') because another dem will be taking office soon?
NOTE to self before moving (when the poop hits the fan): Sell all assets; launder all cash to foreign country. Push comes to shove: keep U.S. citizenship; renounce it at consulate/embassy at new destination (via mail), and hunker down. Oh, what am I saying. Cash won't be worth squat at that point anyway, UNLESS I got the 4-1-1 heads up.
I could see doing this to big business, but not to you and me.
