It would be ironic if Christ (if he walked this earth) turned out to be a homosexual. Certainly, Christ's universal message of love cannot be true if it does not extend to all mankind, and not just a few self-righteous bigots.

Indeed. When Jesse Helms died I thought it would be very ironic if he discovered, arriving at the pearly gates, that Jesus turns out to be a black lesbian
Yep, that pretty much sums it up for me too. Who wants to belong to a 'club' that is rampant with homosexuality and child abuse, (nothing against same sex relationships, or 'Christians', or whoever, but I can speak for the Catholic church). If I was a member of a club where the head honcho, (who is supposed to be so careing), shows such blatant disregard for the abuses, rape, pillage and plunder etc of his fellow man, I believe I would throw him out on his arogant backside.
If chistianity could manage to stop poking their nose in others lives, be they gay, scientists, other faiths, politics, or whatever and keep their beliefs to themselves. When what they believe is kept to themselves and has no direct or indirect effect on anyone's life my opposition will end...I just cannot see that happening.
The climate on this forum and with the broader American youth is very anti-Christian, and its my belief that the reason boils down to one issue: homosexuality. There is a gay revolution occuring among American youth today. Question is, would you still oppose Christianity if Christians were supportive of the homosexual lifestyle? Not that I believe Christians should support that lifestyle because Scripture clearly shows otherwise, but I am just wondering if this is really the issue that has made people so disgusted with Christians over the past decade or so.
I think this is b.s.
I was raised with the principles of Jesus and Christianity in a Christian school. I am not gay. When, in the 6th grade, we got a new teacher who started teaching us that "homosexuality is evil," I politely raised my hand and explained to her that what she was teaching was contrary to the teachings of Jesus, and that it is not our place to judge. She didn't get it, so I had to organize a same sex kiss-in amongst the 6th, 7th and 8th graders. That worked, she left our school that year.
If anything is anti-Christian, it is the right wing politicization of Christianity.
I'm not opposed to christianity, nor to their right to believe that gayness is wrong.
What I'm VERY opposed to is their trying to force their viewpoint on gays into public laws with IDIOTIC concepts of a constitutional amendment defining marriage, etc.
KEEP YOUR RELIGIOUS BELIEFS, AND THE BELIEFS OF ALL RELIGIONS, OUT OF OUR GOVERNMENT AND OUT OF OUR PUBLIC LAWS.
Agnostic, so really nothing could draw me to christianity.
Besides, the idea of christianity doesn't bother me, nor do most of its adherents. I just cannot stand those that proselytze and condemn all the while just sure as shooting that when the rapture hits, they will be the first to be 'beamed up'. Frankly, they scare me just as much as a masked jihadist scares me.
They scare me more, there are alot more of them around here!
