We hear alot about "Big Oil".I think theres plenty of blame to go around for high fuel prices. But dont Democrats and some enviromentalist take some blame for refusing to allow drilling anywhere?!
What about building more Refineries?

There are already tons of drilled, capped wells, on American soil that the oil companies have not touched.

Why do we need to drill elsewhere when they will not utilize what they already have?

As the Democrats say, no to drilling,no to everthing that can help lower prices.

Because those drilled capped wells are largely exhausted to the point where production would be expensive. Perhaps opening them up would be profitable at $140 per barrel, but maybe not if prices go down to $100 or lower. Starting and stopping production is an extremely costly affair. The oil companies know that production in the new areas that are untouched would be a lot cheaper.

Yes many of those so called capped well ar being uncaped now that prices are high. The out put is as low as one nearby that produces 15 barrels a day and cost 300;000 to make operational. Many of the so called leasaes willnot be drilled at all because they have been checked and their is not the potental of oil to take the cost/risk.They ways test to determinbe the potential.I the end this is a smoke screen to explain why the demcrats are holding up drilling as they have for decdes. But when we start t have a shortage and lines they will paniic as carter did and want to drill evrywhere.

It's the same with power generation.......... Every Dem blocked Nuke plant or clean coal plant or transmission line has led to an energy shortage in this country. That means people will and have died from no electricity.

It will end just like Carter for the democrats. Remember his speech when he backed drilling in which he promise that we will never import mre than 40% of our domestic use again. Then when the embargo ended he leat drillers who had invested more than in equipment than they made go bankrupt; You never see them do that againIn the end the politics of need will win over as the polls show more and more. With teh elction coming it will be hammer by the republicans adn 603 groups.

Just a few years ago it was profitable to drill ANYWHERE for $30 a barrel, don't tell me costs of production have gone up more than 300% in 6 years... to the point where oil has to be at $100 just to make it worthwhile. That's just inventing extra costs where there are none.
