Accountability Now - Our Action Against FISA!

BreakTheMatrix has joined a transpartisan alliance encompassing leading intellectuals and online bloggers from the progressive left and libertarian freedom lovers from the right.
This coalition, known as "Strangebedfellows", is modeled after a similar group that started up in Britain in response to excessive and unwarranted surveillance state measures in that country. The strangebedfellows support civil liberties, constitutional governance and repeal of the Patriot Act, and stand in opposition to the warrantless surveillance and retroactive telecom immunity provisions of the FISA reauthorization bill recently signed into law by President Bush.
The FISA bill is an affront to all Americans, and the telecom legal immunity provisions have the effect of elevating the Bush administration and a small group of corporate actors above the law in direct contravention of everything we stand for as a nation. We learned during the Nixon years that unlawful surveillance would not be countenanced, and no one-- not even a president-- was above the law. With the passage of FISA, it seems we must now learn that lesson all over again.
For all supporters of civil liberties in America, we urge you to visit www.AccountabilityNowPAC.com and learn what you can do to end the growing surveillance state in America and return this nation to the
framework of our Bill of Rights and proper constitutional governance.
