You make a valid point. Europe is already feeling the burden. Must be careful what cartoon makes the paper etc.

Any one else feeling hopeful for our nation?

bush empire?

The Soviet Union collapsed due to the fact that socialism by its nature punishes hard work and rewards mediocrity. They have subsequently learned the productivity that comes with allowing people to reap the rewards of their extra effort. Our country is going in the opposite direction, embracing socialism and expecting government to fix our problems.
If you are holding social security up as an accomplishment you are delusional. Social Security and Medicare are ponzi schemes that will drain our pockets before ultimately failing. They were socialist programs influenced by Communism after Roosevelt’s advisors were impressed by similar programs while visiting the Soviet Union. You are right about one thing, I do have little faith in our country, not because I am not patriotic, because we are going in the wrong direction, and people are too lazy and stupid to see it, or do anything about it.

Actually I am firmly against shopping at Wal-Mart so, no.

You say bound to collapse but your reference is to nations of the past who have collapsed. And the collapse of those nations is defined by how much land mass they lose... British Empire, Romans... etc. Our difference is that we already have all of the land we need, we have all of the resources we need, and we have all of the infrastructure. We are completely unique to "empires" of the past.

We are not sinking, the water below us lowering.

The Romans had all the infrastructure and resources they needed.

Actually, we don't have the resources we need. Heard of a thing called oil?

The other part you fail to notice is that all empires have collapsed when the currency was debased and military resources were spread too thin.

And how much land did the Romans lose? We have no land to lose, we are isolated and well policed/patrolled.

Oil? We have plenty of it, we are just sucking up everybody else's before we have to use our own.... don't tell me you didn't know that!

Again what is your definition of a collapse...?

Actually China is stealing what used to be ours through increased purchasing power of the yuan. Americans are b-ing and moaning over ultra cheap gasoline and oil already and you ain't seen nothing yet.

You might like to think we're getting away with something, but we're not...sowwy.

Definition of a collapse could be similar to Germany's in 1945 or Japan. Doesn't mean we lose significant land. Just a lot of people suffering and a power vacuum.

Sowwwyyy to you... because your spinning. Tell me, what is the American collapse going to look like? Bread lines? What? When is this collapse going to happen... lets just get it over with and start over. Does a collapse mean that our buildings fall, our factories crumble, our military equipment to cease from working? What is going to happen????

I know we are going through hard times but I have been hearing about our demise for a very long time now and the way everyone I know and myself included have been living has not changed one iota than in the past before we were in "rough waters".

You better buck up or keep it movin' because "collapse" is only for people who succumb to it.

I'll be the judge of what I must do

An American collapse would probably take the form of kids playing with wads of money and it being swept on the streets as garbage. In the depression, cash was precious. That scenario will look very different than in the 30's. The government printing presses are kicking into overdrive, and like I said you ain't seen nothing yet.

I won't directly be experiencing any hard times as I've crafted myself around these problems. I am saddened because I will likely have to use my firearms on many occassions and I've never killed anyone, in self-defense or otherwise, yet.

I don't know exactly what will happen. Maybe a fascist revolution. Maybe a bolshevist one. Depends on what the people will want. The government will likely be powerless to prevent the transition from taking place, esp if the changes are taken from within.

This is the biggest credit collapse in human history, and we stand on the epicenter of it. It will not be pretty.
