The Bush administration will be mailing out another batch of “stimulus” checks in the very near future. There’s no way around it. The Fed is in a pickle and can’t lower interest rates for fear that food and energy prices will shoot to the stratosphere. At the same time, the economy is shrinking faster than anyone thought possible with no sign of a rebound. That leaves stimulus checks as the only way to “prime the pump” and keep consumer spending chugging along. Otherwise business activity will slow to a crawl and the economy will tank. There’s no other choice.

Consumer prices will escalate even further as a result of continued inflationary pressure.
This will stop eventually and the chips will fall where they may. Even the government cannot stop that now.

Sooner rather than later, we need to bite the bullet and learn from this for the future. More quick fixes are just going to make it worse for our kids. Can't they see that?

This money they are "giving" us is really a "gift" from our grandchildren because they are the ones that are still going to be paying for it. Take the money and buy them a savings bond or invest it in some way for them because it is really their money. This is just ridiculous.

The future? What future? Soon the earth will split beneath the ground of Americans, lava will spew up from the deep, buildings of commerce and factories will unexplainably crumble, rivers will stop flowing causing loss of electricity, fields of precious crops will whither without a cause, citizens will all of a sudden become unable to work. American infrastructure will mysteriously vanish and we will become slaves to the Chinese. And to think we knew this was going to happen for yeeeeaaarrrssss... and we are still waiting.

It will first have to start with teh democratic controlled congresss. AQs ir now satnds it may take awhile because they are keeping the clanadar full so as to avoid a drillinbg debate and vote. Then Bush will decide if to veto or not. That articale probabl;y has to do with Obama opening promoting another rebate in his campaign.I don't see taht the first one really did much to help the overall economy;added more debt really.

Thanks!
