Democrats are refusing to drill anywhere and have blocked any..
Progress in that area for decades.
Mccain wants to build more Nuclear power,Obama wont.
Recently Obama gave a speech where he said if everyone inflated..
Their Tires and got a Tune-up that would equal the oil of new drilling.
Why fight drilling and a better energy policy when fuel cost's are so high..
And Energy will remain a problem until we finally work our way out of it.
If fuel prices get worse and worse and Democrats stick to this plan..
Its going to hurt em big-time!

There policy now to to keep a vote from being added to the calandar of biils by keeping it full. That is because they see the overwhelming pols for drilling. The conservationist loby has the democrats in their pocket as always;especailly in a election year. But alot of demcrats are starting to wrooy about congressal elections and are starting to move away from the party and Obam's position.

The left has been influenced heavily by the wacko element in the environmental movement that views all energy as evil, profit as evil and even human beings as evil parasites of the earth. There are environmentalists who are opposed to huge new solar power plants in the southwest because they might interrupt the habitat of a desert tortoise!

What the left doesn't realize, and what many on the right don't either, is that we don't need an energy policy at all in this country. We need to end the subsidies / tax breaks that treat oil companies differently from other companies. We need to allow drilling far more than we do now. Let oil discover its true price, and let alternatives compete on the market. It will all work itself out much less painfully than it will with continued government interference.

Default I doubt it.

I doubt it. Granted it does seem that Obama should be much higher in the polls than he is, currently oil prices continue to fall and may fall as low as $90 or lower this year. And even though gas prices started their ascent after the Democrats won Congress, it seems that the Republicans are taking a larger hit because of their assumed association with "Big Oil" and the fact that GWB was in the White House when it started. Right now I believe the Democrats could add a $2.00 tax on gasoline, and with the help of the very politically-slanted television media, most Americans will forgive them.

My recommendation is to buy gold or become as self-sufficient as you can. Times are going to get tough.

Not true. There are thousands of on-shore and off-shore acres already leased to the oil companies where they haven't yet started drilling. The fact of the matter is there's about a 5 year wait for a drilling rig at this point. This is just a land grab by the oil companies. Even Boone Pickens acknowledges that drilling is not the answer.

Just not true. BTW there are about 1/2 dozen new nuclear units awaiting Board of Director approval, not governmental approval. The hold up isn't in Washington.

Link to the transcript? Certainly not something on Obama's policy statement, which does call for a 50 mpg car. The solution to this problem is cars that get better mileage.
