I hate it when people say Europe is enlightened. They are a cowed people since WWII as evidenced by their socialist ideals and the Islamic invasion of the continent.

Because most people would rather politely igonre the situation but the gay pride parades and the other "in your face " antics tend to **** people off just a little

I told one fell once I really didnt care if he was gay, just dont pat me on the butt or try to kiss me..................

He patted me on the butt and I kicked his all over the parking lot...........Why? not because he was gay but because he violated my space in a manor I found displeasing and he suffered for it.

Now was that gay bashing or what???????????

You mean like girls gone wild and some Mardi Gras parades? Gay people certainly don't have a monopoly on that kind of behavior and sharing it with the public.

Sounds like typical guys to me. Doing something that someone tells you not to do just to grate on their nerves and getting into a stupid fight over it. I see guys do that all the time. From what you wrote there, it seems pretty obvious that he did that just to get a rise out of you because you were so adamant about him not doing it. Don't blame that kind of middle school-type behavior on gay people; I've met plenty of guys who think they're still in middle school, gay and straight and everything in between.

Care to discuss why you feel that way?

I've worked with many gay people, have befriended a few. Gays are not oppressed in American society. This is just another big whine. If you want to see gays oppressed, go visit the Middle East (but not Israel -- they are treated well there, and often seek refuge in Israel to avoid being murdered.)

Oh, so the only way to be oppressed is through murder? Give me a break!

Granted, other countries are much worse in their oppression, but gay people are hated in this country by many people. Just put anything on the ballot to limit or take away rights from gay people and watch the stampede to the polls.

what rights do we look to take away from gays? oh that's right, none. marriage isn't a right, it's a piece of paper issued by the state that gives you permission to have sex with your partner. I think gays have it made, not being able to marry just means they don't have to fill out a prenup. we should all be so lucky. I wish they would totally do away with marriage as a LEGAL institution and put it back into the churches where it belongs. that way, gay couples could find a church to marry them and wouldn't have to worry about it being "legit" in the eyes of the state.
