Yes, clearly the democrats are behind this. Knowing Bush would get us involved in Iraq it would allow them to revive their sagging party and gain house seats back that they had lost.

The guy has been widely described by family and friends as "eccentric" not out of the realm of possibility that he did do it and wrote the note to cover his tracks. What did you expect? A note with his name signed at the bottom.
The biggest hole in the conspiracy theory is why he didn't have an accident years ago if they wanted him quieted.
