The "sin" of greed is simply human nature. It is a negative trait to overcome no matter the class situation. But obviously more difficult for those who live in dire poverty, as they are struggling just to survive. There is poor, and there is dire poverty. And can represent a huge divide. Nevertheless, on a personal level, a concept of giving to others, despite one's financial situation is well known positive principle. The act of giving to those less fortunate can offset greed in a big way, so is just a common sense universal principle to use whether rich or poor.
I like this take. I think that the rate of occurence of "bad people" is fairly uniform across racial, ethnic and socio-economic lines. In other words, no matter what neighborhood you live in there are going to be @ssholes to deal with and every so often you will run into someone who is just plain evil. People are people wherever you are.

I agree. Still you also have to add in the "corruption" factor that occurs with the very powerful and wealthy. They often start believing they are above the rules ithe rest of us have to follow. Corruption is why Mccain says the Republicans took a beating the last Congressional elections.
(Understanding this happens on both sides, across the board.)

How about the landlords who do everything possible to have a nice place (which they pay the mortgage on every month - rent or no rent) then see tenants trash it and won't pay the rent?

Think of renting out your house - you have pride in it and you would be trusting someone else with it - it's a bitter pill to swallow when they are causing damage, their check bounces, etc and you have to do all sorts of legal work while they are 'enjoying' the fruits of your labor.

They can always move on to the next place - you are stuck.

BUT The Poor are greedy because they have their hand out taking what they can get instead of working to get it... it might be a double standard- but I think it is important to WORK, but use only what you NEED... the poor aren't even working for what they need... they are taking what they need and that is pure LAZINESS and sponging off of society... it is greedy...
The most disgusting thing I've seen is rich snotty people spend $150 getting prescription eyedrops for a dog or a cat while there are kids who go hungry all over our country. They rather spend money on a dog than on other humans, they are just sick and twisted.

not all rich are greedy. just most of them. the evil is doing the reverse robin hood, which is the current GOP game.

I think "greed" is the desire for that which you have not earned. Criminals, rich or poor, are the most greedy. They want what they have not earned and have no right to.

It’s the difference of a little greed or a big amount of greed. The poor are just trying to make it through the week. The rich are looking for a much larger payout!

The rich will sit at dollar slot machines and the poor will stay with the nickel and dime ones. The ultra rich will be in private gambling rooms where the poor will buy a scratch card at the desk. Greed is in most all of us, just depends on where you’re sitting.

I don't call being rich greedy. If it's YOUR money and YOU inherited it or worked for it, why is it greedy to want to keep what is YOURS? Why should you be expected to share it with other people?

If you are poor and you are expecting someone else to support you - yes, that is greedy.

So you would agree, then, that the rich who will soon be bailed out by the American taxpayer were greedy?

How can you be greedy if you dont have anything. Greedy is not the same as wishing you had.Everyone wishes they had. Greedy means not sharing, keeping it all to yourself. You have to have something to be greedy.
