Consuming is easy and fun. Everyone wants to consume. The Chinese (internally) and others will be happy to pick up the slack.
Who is the biggest consumer of Chinese crap?

Who would replace us quickly?

No-one.

Do you mean it doesn't apply to all people but only to US citizens or legal residents?

Actually a better historical example would be Germany and Czechoslovakia and Russia and South Ossetia.

However I doubt many know their history,it is SO yesterday.

Actually if you think about it,they need us more.

We as a people could forego buying new crap for a while,China cannot simply stop producing it as their people would rebel.

That's why they invest in us.....It like buying into the biggest company in the world. 14 trillion in GDP....Only the EU ranks above us @ a little over 16 trillion. Russia is was down there hitting up just under 2 trillion.

China lost our business China would fall...we wouldn't be far behind them.....a little collateral damage?

China hasn't invested as much as Japan though....which by the way is 3rd in GDP....Japan has invested almost twice as much as China.
