Wow, I never would have thought you would hold that position. *chuckle*
We will talk in 20 years when all of these "changes" come to bite you in the rear. Don't come to my state please when it does, we don't want your ideas or your beliefs.
If I were still in California, I would likely be lumped into that $150k+ group, just because I own a small business. We get by, but "wealthy" we are not. We struggle to make our bills each month, just like a lot of other people. Yet, we'd still have to take that extra tax hit.
Laws like this drive away the very people and businesses that the state should be bending over backwards to keep, as it's those people who create jobs, pay the lion's share of taxes (without additional taxes such as this) and generally keep the economy moving. This sort of decision shows just how screwed up their logic really is.
Aside from the proposed legislation [which would never pass ] the state will help all citizens by eliminated the employer being stuck with health care benefits for employees or self-employed individuals. You are reacting without considering the other factors involved & how you would benefit.
Funny, I guess you don't read the responses to your posts much because I have already told you in another thread, you even commented on my living in Texas.
As for boring, If you mean, more conservative, people within reason keep their noses out of other peoples business and view individual rights as something that can not be reasoned way, not matter how much they claim it is for the greater good. Yep, then it is boring, I like boring, I don't want the excitement or rather the lunacy of California. I lived there, have nothing in common with it, It can sink into the ocean for all I care and on that day I will be sitting on the couch eating popcorn watching the show.
Oh no more Californians moving to no-income tax Texas. Well, it will be interesting to see how many outspoken movies stars bail...
Sorry but moving to Texas just means delaying reality for a few more years but you will see that what happens in California will eventually occur in your state as well [you lucky but undeserving poor soul

They don't care about the taxes, they really don't earn their money anyway. I mean, no education, go get lucky and get popular and rake in 700k to 1M a month and even if they tax you 55%, you are still stupidly rich for doing nothing of importance. I can't see them as being too concerned, but you are right, they won't be living here anyway. Most likely they will have their homes in other countries while they come to the US to advertise for policies, restrictions, and changes that really won't have the slightest effect on their lifestyle, yet we will have to ALL sacrifice for the good of things. Makes me sick thinking about it. *chuckle*
