AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Ted Nugent says Gov. Rick Perry had no problem with his decision to wear a Confederate flag shirt during his appearance at last week's inaugural ball _ and even complimented his performance.

Nugent, 58, said Perry talked to him backstage after the black-tie event, complimenting him on "the greatest rock 'n' roll" and thanking him for coming, several newspapers reported Tuesday. The governor also called over the weekend, ending the conversation by telling Nugent to "give 'em hell," Nugent was quoted as saying.

It's the other side of the coin if you don't like deversity your not Patrotic.

I saw an interview with Hank Williams Jr. and they asked if he would ever run for office in Tenn. He anwered"possibly Governor" and I believe at sometime Uncle Ted is going to run for office in Michigan won't that be something for the White House.
He comes to Idaho all the time and Boise loves him the radio station makes a big deal plays his music for 3 days before his on their station. Comes for the hunting. Plays in a low key bar and you can get close up and personal.

I love the NUG...we have alot in common, would love to target shoot and play guitar with him for a day.Without getting deep in the rebel flag controversy,I dont think in his instance it was meant as racist.

I love his reply about the French lol!

Nugent is great. He doesn't want or have to be politically correct. I don't hunt but he is a huge hunter and blood sport connesiour. I remember him going on Fox news for an interview of some sort and he whips out this HUGE folding hunting knife and starts peeling away and eating an apple or something. I thought E.D. Hill was going to run out of the studio.

The only french remark I remember him quoted as saying was "the only thing worse then a frenchman is a french-canadian". LOL, how true.
