Will never happen in Nevada - you don't bite the hand that feeds you. Gaming IS Nevada.

That's too bad & would never happen in California [we go after big business that don't pay their share except certain unions [ie prison guards] seem to have extraordinary hold on both the governor & state assembly/senate, but that will be changing in time]. One of the reasons I like living in California is the ability of the electorate to make major decisions & keep corporations in check.

Now, don't you think it was a mistake leaving your home state to escape into something far worse = Nevada? [you can come back home, you know.

I live in both states - Arizona and Nevada

And, how many different industries does California have?

How many different industries does Nevada have?

I imagine 6% of Nevada's gaming take is alot of money for a state that size, population wise.

While it is a healthy number, it is really low compared to other states. If memory services me correctly - Louisiana and Mississippi charge 40% tax on the take ....

Rather than arming teachers, school districts need to provide at least one teacher's aid per 20 students & metal detectors at the school entrance. More involvement with the students [including pre & after school tutoring, sports, arts for students w/ working parents]. Family counseling is necessary even if it means going into the home by a counselor each week to help parents learn how to set limits & structure their children's time.

All these programs have helped immensely in very troubled school districts w/ much lower violent incidents in the classroom.
Uh huh, and those things cost MONEY. Usually MY tax dollars! I can barely afford to feed my own family, much less provide pansy "programs" for other people.
Im for the teachers carrying guns, and I hope it travels to SC. The students carry 'em...might as well not make the teachers sitting ducks

Go eat some granola, hug a tree, and stop judging Texas.

I'm a teacher.. not in texas.. i think i would be uncomfortable carrying a gun around in school... it would be a HUGE distraction from what I really am there for... I'm not a babysitter or a police officer.. I'm there to teach....

I wonder if we're going to start hearing about reports of teacher's losing the plot and shooting their students...the job is stressful enough.. with having ridiculous parents and rude illmannered children.. these are not the people to be giving a gun to.. lol.. all joking aside though.....next time your little sally and billy act up in class.. instead of detention.. they might end up with an undeserving bullet... from a teacher durring a heated event and lacking judgement...its america.. anything is possible... and as awful as it sounds... it could happen...what will we do then?

Which is great... the law doesn't mandate it, or encourage it... it permits it.

Oh gimme a break. With this big epidemic of teachers being stressed why don't we hear about all of the murders due to scissors, staplers, and letter openers? Or perhaps we should ban those because teachers aren't to be trusted.

And what on earth is stopping a teacher from bringing a gun into a school today to mow down students that they don't like? At least if other teachers were carrying concealed it wouldn't be a massacre like we saw at Virginia Tech where students were prohibited from protecting themselves.

And should we ban police officers at schools from carrying guns? They're in stressful situations as well... and they're obviously well armed. What if they decide to mow down some students?
