No. Sixteen year olds today, in general, have no concept of personal responsibility and lack a significant amount of maturity. They should not be voting. In fact, the voting age should probably be raised to 21 again.

Another thought...perhaps a minor shouldn't be allowed to vote until they are "emancipated"...while they are still claimed as a dependent of their parents they shouldn't be voting.

My personal opinion is yes. People at 16 are smart & mature enough to make the choice between people they approve or reject.
I vote Yes.

It's not about who they will pick or not pick, they do not yet have a general understanding and comprehension of the world around them to know what they are voting about. Example: If they were asked if income taxes and property taxes should be increased to fund Cause XY. If it sounds good to them, why not? The reason is because they are not supporting themselves and don't understand the ramifications of an increased income and/or property tax to the rest of us.

Bear in mind that any requirement other than US citizenship & voting age is a dangerous path...

I vote Yes.
And how old are you???

I voted no. I think that even 18 is a little young and 21 should be the voting age. But since one can enlist at 18 (which I think is also too young), then they can vote. And the drinking age being 21 is just fine.

21 is a good age to be considered a full adult. Although I recommend not getting married and having kids until at least the age of 25. But definitely no to teenage pregnancies.

U have a point on having no experience economy-wise at 16.
However, quite a few 16ers will work in the summer for extra income & have a taste of the way to earn money.
