Again, this number is a comparison of GDP. Even the authors concur the falling value of the dollar impacted the statistic, and they concede that Americans still have more buying power than Brits. Comparing Europe to the US may be interesting, but it's like comparing Tulsa, Oklahoma to New York City: the cultural variation is vast and impossible to measure. It's just too subjective to determine where the better place to live is.

i would guess that republicans hate unions for the same reason that democrats love unions. it is just another hand in your pocket taking your earned money from you.

No, are you suggesting that our government forces us at gun point? I guess they haven't made it to my neighborhood yet, damn bureaucracy.
However, He did give an airtight mandate to his followers, a commandment even, to make it their will. I would say that there are as many Christian followers as there are American taxpayers, probably more So I would call that a pretty apt comparison.
BTW Texian, feel free to argue a point or make a cogent statement at some point in this thread.

I'm not suggesting it. I'm telling you how it is. The IRS will get it's money. They've been known to kill for it.

I dunno. Looks like a bear market to me. But what do I know.

Funny, you ought to try comparing the Texas and French economies. They are roughly the same size and one is doing a whole heck of alot better than the other.

Fine. We'll keep the discussion it in the USA since the success of unionization in other countries blows these simple arguments out of the water.

How about Southwest Airlines? The most heavily unionized and well paid employees in the airline industry. They haven't lost money in over thirty years and rank 1 in customer satisfaction among large airlines. How many lesser paid airlines have gone into bankruptcy in that time.....ten? twenty?

I guess you didn't realize that IRS agents carry weapons. Try not paying your taxes and see where you wind up.

That's not under threat of force?
