Frank, next post, please engage your brain before your fingers!

The masses of urban sheeple have been convinced it's the government's responsibility to protect them, and they like not having to bear that responsibility (and a gun).

Thanks! Frank_Carbonni seems to have taken issue with my post, imagine that! What really befuddles me is what does Janet Jackson's nipple have to do with a woman being murdered in NYC? Oh I know, Frank was just ranting and needed something really obtuse to end his rant! Good one Frank, the nipple thing was really a rant kicker!

Default Kitty Genovese Redux?

Y'all are probably all too young but what this incident reminds me most of is Kitty Genovese in 1964. That was one of the first times people talked about 'not getting involved.'

So this is certainly not a recent development.

I was still in high school at the time, but I do remember the event and discussing it in class.

+1

So many people instantly deem a homogeneous society as a racist society and racism is bad! However under closer inspection what is actually more damaging... hetero or homo? And it really has nothing to do with skin color... it has to do with how people act and behave. I would much rather live a in an area that acts and behaves as I do...

The fact is humans will never see the day in which everyone gets along, so whats the next best thing?

I think people can have neighborhoods with a sense of community without everyone having the same color skin.

There are a lot of things that have isolated people in the past few decades. TV. Central air. Cars. (I'm not kidding.) I think that people CAN find other things in common besides race and culture. I've seen it happen. I see it happen all the time.

HAHAHA! Beavis and Butt-Head, now there is "high class comedy" that I would faithfully watch and lose myself in the "bizzarro" world of creator, Mike Judge! I can't believe that B&B have been gone more than 10 years! I now loose myself in the unreality of SpongeBob SquarePants!

SpongeBob..., SquarePants, tutly-toot-tedut-toot! I love it!
