Freakin' awesome.

My annual snowboard trip isn't until March (had to use my miles ), so I'm hoping that NE will still have decent snow at that time.

Forgot...how is this in any way related to politics?

Winter and sports like snowboading are very controversial. For instance, I hate winter and believe all snowboarders should be deported. To the Sahara. Let 'em try cutting some of that there sand for a change...

Forgot a good joke. What's the first two words a snowboarder says to a skiier on the slopes?

"Sorry dude"

Moving to NC made me realize how much I missed New England being within a comfortable driving distance. Love the springs and falls, more lax gun rights, and friendlier people. Hate the lack of winter sports.

I like the joke.

Western NC does have something to offer in the way of winter sports. More than many warm states.

It's political in that I thought that winters were supposed to be getting warmer.

Dodging redneck rockets on slushy ice for $60, $100/night for a room, and 4 hours each way in a car isn't exactly my idea of a good time.

Rental car is $20/day, hotel is $70/night, and lift tickets are $25 a day, airfare free b/c of miles and the conditions are likely to be SO much better.

Last winter was frigid in NH (during Feb). They even had to close down the top lift chair because of the high winds.

Yeah, the prices are lame. I never had to pay full price or drive more than a half hour when I was living in Western NC, so I guess I had a different experience.
