"Former classmates say Mr. Obama chose not to mention his race in his application to Harvard Law School to avoid benefiting from affirmative action, an assertion that his campaign declined to confirm or deny."
Look, if you don't graduate with AT LEAST HONORS from your undergraduate institution, you're not getting into Harvard without "something else" being taken into account.
Period.
I wonder if the name "Barack Hussein Obama" tipped the admissions board off that they weren't dealing with another "Martin Van Petersmith IV" when his application came rolling along sans racial classification designation.
You don't have to be Harvard Edumacated to figure it out!
How well did he do on his MCAT? What about his interviews, personal statements, and extracurriculars? Good grades alone do not guarantee admission.
Dunno, it's not polite to ask private individuals that question. But since he's studying now at another institution (in his residency by now, I believe) to be a neurosurgeon, I THINK he did fair well enough!
Would you rather have a cardiac surgeon who graduated last in his class of 10 at John Hopkins or the surgeon who graduated first at the local community college?
A false choice. First the Naval Academy is not academically comparable to John Hopkins or other elite schools. Second, 10th is far different than John McCain's 894th of 899. Third, community colleges don't produce surgeons from their ranks.
Let's take a more reasonable example. The University of Illinois College of Medicine has over 2600 students and is well respected. For argument sake, assume that the graduating class numbers 500. Would I feel comfortable getting medical advice from #495? Easy answer: hell, no.
This is the kind of stuff the media has allowed him to get away with. Why not release your records? Just like all the other records you refuse to release and continue to hide from the voters.
YEAH! He should have enrolled somewhere better, more renown...like the University of Idaho! A tier 3 school with nothing to offer.
According to the article, all since 2000 have been made public. Being the first to hide his transcripts this century may be some of Obama's "change."
is it a requirement? being smart does not mean you'll be a good commander in chief.. i praise the president of bolivia, dont take that much education to lead a country....

So, back on point...if there is a point to it...a lot of people weren't the best students. I sure as hell never got into an Ivy League school to make C's. Then again, my father is not named George Bush either.
Doesn't it peak your curiosity about WHY they won't release it?
What could possibly be the problem? Isn't he proud of his time there?
