ST. PAUL, Minnesota (CNN) -- A group of gay and lesbian Republicans has traveled to the site of the GOP convention this week to help convince its party that it is time to stop being on the "wrong side" of the same-sex marriage issue.
hmm.. making them choose between gays or the jesus people... hmmmm...
what is that supposed to mean? No one is asking anyone to make a choice between the two? In case you didn't know, one can be pro gay rights and or be gay and still be, as you put it: a Jesus person.
I think they're just in the wrong party! I'll never understand gay Republicans. I know a couple and they're brains seem to freeze up when I point out how they're voting against their own best interest.
could it be because there is more to a political party than one issue. Some people have trouble understanding this, obviously you are one of them..
One of the rights we have as American citizens is to associate ourselves with others. Along with that right is the right to not be forced to associate ourselves with others. Gay marriage forces straits to associate themselves with gays through the state regulated institution of marriage. Since marriage has so many social and religious implications, I can't think of a better reason for the federal government to keep its nose out of it all together.
I've seen many arguments against gay marriage...but this one is one of the most absurd yet.
Are you afraid that by this "forced association" that you might turn gay?
Voting Democrat just b/c you're gay makes no sense. Unless being gay is just the most important thing in your whole life (how sad). Not to mention democrats haven't really even done much lately to help the cause (Clinton: DOMA, many blue states passing laws banning gay marriage).
It's not a matter of voting Democratic b/c you're gay, it's a matter of not having a viable alternative. When the other side is calling your sexual orientation a "mental disorder", your options are narrowed down. I'm straight so maybe my opinion is irrelevant, but the Republican Party is definitely not for gay people.
Gays are on the wrong side of history. History has proven throughout time that people are repulsed by such devient abnormal lifestyles. If the Republicans start siding with homosexual marriage they will only make more people leave the party.
I'm old enough to remember the same argument used against interracial marriage...
There is nothing abnormal about race or skin color. Stop trying to ride on the backs of blacks and others to excuse devient behavior.
