It's not a question of weeding out. Even a good cop can make a mistake, especially if the information he has is inaccurate or misconstructed.

What is needed is a sea change in fundamental criminal justice philosophy. The moment a person is identified as a "suspect", there is a de facto presumption of guilt, and police from that point on have a free hand to do whatever they want in order to make an arrest. Their excuse is "probable cause" and it is a bullet-proof defense against any accusation of police brutality.

There have been cases in which every single charge has been dropprd or dismissed or acquitted, except "resisting arrest". A perfectly innocent person has no right to resist arrest. And then must subject himself to all the hardship and indignity associated with being hosed down and cavity searched and orange jumpsuited and incarcerated in stinking conditions for days until he can find somebody to accept a collect call and make bail for him, and then pay attorneys fees in advance to prove what is already laughingly presumed---his innocence. And there are people saying yippppeeee every time someody is sent to jail. You never know when it will be your turn.

the moral of the story for me is coverups (lying with collusion) don't work.

Default ok, here's your chance, please, please help

OK, it's time we do something....and we can!!!!

Please Help
Please Help pass the new protection act bill #1738 which is now in Congress to be voted on.

The PROTECT Our Children Act will:
  • Authorize over $320 million over the next five years in desperately needed funding for law enforcement to investigate child exploitation.
  • Mandate that child rescue be a top priority for law enforcement receiving federal funding.
  • Allocate funds for high-tech computer software that can track down Internet predators.
Please follow the instructions on this page and write your senate gov...or go to www.senate gov to find your by name or state, and follow the instructions to write him/her.

http://www.oprah.com/article/oprahshow/20080911_tows_predators

Please email that person and ask them to vote the Senate Bill Act #1738
so that our children will be more protected against child sexual abuse.

I have written for years about this, and hope that you will help. It should only take you 5 minutes.

Unless you've been a victim of child sexual abuse, you have no idea of the degradation, the loss of innocence, trust, self confidence, and fear.

Please, I urge you to help...your children are our responsiblity, and as adults I firmly feel, it is time we do something to stop the rampid sexual molestation that is corrupting our society.

Thank you
Cremebrulee
