Why can't you 'vape' like Wannabee?

Maybe she doesn't CHOSE to. Did I miss something? Are you her mother?

I guess she negated to see my first post today #293: "I also smoke, but plan to switch to an e-cigarette, which is a good alternative, in public places that ban smoking."

I enjoy smoking organic tobacco when not in PUBLIC places

Is that okay, mommy "Finn" dearest

So that's it. You're one of THOSE ex-smokers. Ex-smokers come in two flavors:

1. Those who after they quit remember that they once smoked and don't bother those who still do. They do make themselves available to other smokers to help out if they decide to quit.

2. Those who after they quit make it their life's crusade to ensure everyone else follow their way.

You are number 2.

How much does a car cost? It varies of course. Starter kits are 50.-100.
That is for the hardware (batteries/chargers/cases). Also needed are the consumables, i.e. cartomizers (looks like a filter) and nicotine e-juice for refills. A la carte, I would get 2 batteries, 1 charger, 1 box of 5 cartomizers, and a bottle of juice. I get my supplies at vapor4life. Tip: sign up for the email newsletter for coupon codes.

I didn't read your post before (I view 40 per page) so I only saw the OP and then my current page. I didn't really want to quit (after 35 years) but Vaping made me quit by accident, rather than by my own willpower. It's hard not to like Vaping better than smoking. E-cigarettes are a smoking alternative - they are not considered a smoking cessation method (but it could happen). I don't want to preach (actually I do) but I recommend trying e-cigs AND you don't even have to think about quitting smoking because chances are good that the e-cig could make you forget smoking. I should do a commercial - sheesh! I am really happy I'm not paying cigarette taxes anymore, and all the other taxes imposed on a pack of smokes.

Have you taken the time to look at both sides of the issue or do you just choose a side and find information to support your viewpoint. For a good read that shows a different take...

Joe Jackson - The Smoking Issue

You may feel like a better person for having quit but I can assure you that the anger and judgemental attitude that you display tells me the anxiety you experience in your quest to control the world may well end up killing you. And I wouldn't be suprised if you decided it was from your past smoking. More likely someone else's second hand smoke.

But, being the happy person that I am, I will continue to pay my insurance premiums that may well be higher due to all the anxiety laden controllers of the world.

is it that it"s a lifestyle choice, that has been taken away. I don't look at
it as losing because it is what it is! The only way I can get even is not to
patronise bars or restaurants any more. Think of all the money I will save
by eating and drinking at home, so I win and the businesses lose! This is how I will deal with it and in time they will all show a loss of revenue, which is a proven pattern in other states.
they should have bars and restaurants for smokers only,, with a big sign at the front entance that says enter at you own risk.!!! if you don't smoke you must sign a waver to enter..

i think they have just gone to far with some of these bans they just passed a ban on smoking in bars here in the usvi,, and get this you cant even light up in a open bar with no walls, you must be at least 20 feet from the building if you want to puff.. well like you said they sure know how to kill business.. i know a lot of people that have already said they are going to stop going to the bars and host their own parties when the law goes into effect.. and i'm one of them,, the big irony,,, is i can go to the local casino and sit at a black jack table with a bunch of non smokers and drink a big rum n coke and smoke a whole pack of cigs and they cant say chit i guess second hand smoke doesn't effect non smokers in a casino i would like to see how much business casinos would lose if they banned smoking..

just to mention!!!! my dang neighbor likes to barbecue every weekend, and guess what his dang barbecue smoke fills our house with his second hand barbecue smoke.. i think it's time to ban barbecues, camp fires, chimney fires.. ohhh while were at it ban all those big factories the spew toxic smoke out of there stacks..

They what? In the USVI??? That is the last place I thought they would ever pull that. Open air bars are the norm there. Do they still allow smoking on the beach? It's prohibited at many NJ beaches (and they still charge you $8 for the privilege of walking on the sand).

But smoking is allowed at the Divi Carina in St. Croix? It's still allowed in Atlantic City too. Hmmm.

The ban doesn't make sense in an open-air environment where adults go to drink and the trade winds never stop. It's just DUMB.

I am under the impression that smoking is being vilified while unhealthy eating habits can actually cause more health problems. My friends see how I eat and proclaim "I just couldn't live like that!".......ya know.......eating a healthy diet.

Do you see my point?
Yes, I see your point. I ALWAYS read the labels on the food I buy.........the information is clearly available for those that care to read it.

I would choose the healthy Cerial for my child, but considering how many children are fat nowadays...............most parents choose not to...........but they would have an apoplectic fit if one of their fat little darlings had to waddle through a whiff of my cigarette smoke on their way into the store.

Health care costs for the overweight and obese have now surpassed the costs of caring for smokers..........why aren't people whining about paying for them?

"430,000 people die each year from smoking related illnesses"

Do you know that whenever a smoker dies, that smoking is listed as contributing to the cause of death no matter what they actually die of?

I have seen that happen in my own family. My sister-in-law's father was a smoker. He died when he was 69. He had diabetes......{it runs in their family........he was tall and VERY thin}. He had asbestosis from working in a steel mill for over 30 years. He had a bad heart {that also runs in their family, smoker or not}.

He needed his pacemaker replaced.......he was admitted to the hospital......he had the procedure done. OOOOPS..........you have acquired an infection and you are not going to survive.

His ACTUAL cause of death was a hospital acquired infection.

What was listed as the cause of death on his death certificate? Heart disease and smoking. Not one word about the HOSPITAL ACQUIRED INFECTION that actually killed him.

My sister-in-law was furious, to say the least.

So, you see, those stats you quote about deaths caused by smoking are scewed, to say the least.

Someone mentioned campfires.

How many parents go camping and sit their fat, little darlings down in front of the campfire with a hotdog on one stick and a marshmallow on the other? Ya know, the parents that don't even want smoking allowed in amusement parks and on beaches..........getting a whiff of that cigarette smoke will kill their children don't ya know.

Well, here ya go...........campfire smoke is even more deadly than second hand smoke. No more campfires for you!

the dangers of campfire smoke: The Dangers of Campfire Smoke

But........not to worry..............there are nannies out there who are fighting to ban campfires too.
