And it is TRUE !

snopes.com: Irena Sendler.

CAN YOU IMAGINE THIS STORY .......

A Lady Named Irena

There recently was a death of a 98 year old lady named Irena.

During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist.

She had an ulterior motive...

She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews, (being German).

Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of her tool box she carried, and she carried in the back of her truck a Burlap sack, (for larger kids).

She also had a dog in the back, that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in, and out of the ghetto.

The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog, and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.

During her time and course of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants.

She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, and arms, and beat her severely.

Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out, and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard.

After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it, and reunited the family.

Most of course had been gassed.

Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes, or adopted.

Last year Irena was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize....

She LOST.

Al Gore won, for doing a slide show on Global Warming.

I think Al Gore is full of crap and that the global warming hysteria is a complete scam, but let's be fair here. Gore didn't nominate himself for the prize (did he?), and he certainly didn't award it to himself.

While Gore deserves most of the criticism he gets, the blame for this one lies squarely with the Nobel selection committee.

Me too..........

But the Prize has become a political prop and its value comes into
question, doesn't it ?
I think a better humanitarian award for this century could be called
the "Mother Theresa's." Awards. For real people that make a real
difference in helping the downtrodden. And politics should be
kept out of it.

And corporate interests... there are trillions of dollars to be made on a carbon credit system... none of it for taxpayers, in fact, taxpayers would BE the source of revenue... its like an additional tax...

Didn't Jimmy Carter get the Nobel prize? Between he and bloated Algore, they have made a mockery of the prize...

Someone's a bit touchy about their favorite scam artist, I see... The link was provided in the original post...

But just in case you don't trust Snopes, try this.

(btw, it's "cite" not "site")

The Nobel Peace Prize is a joke anyways. How many people have been awarded it for bring peace to the Middle East? I can think of at least five, never mind that organization that is trying to ban land mines...

Remember that Simpsons episode where Sideshow Bob goes, "Attempted murder?! That's a crock. Is there a Nobel Prize for attempted chemistry?!" No, but there is one for attempted peace, it is "try really hard and you'll win it" Nobel.
