This thread brings the worst out of people, but why? All I did was ask a simple question?
Why do most poor blacks still continue to vote Democrat, especially when it's obvious the Democrat party has done nothing for them since the 1960's?
Also, why do most successful blacks (besides gangster rappers and Oprah) vote Republican?

Who are these successful black people? You obviously didn't read my first post. We don't vote Republican. And I'm one of them. We are truly about equality which we do not see in the corporate work place or when applying for a mortgage/personal/business loans. So please tell me about these "successful" black Republicans.
If you look at all of the TOP AA's and top AA organizations (like the Greek fraternities and sororities and black owned businesses) and the many leaders (whom all have PhD's)that preside over them, all back leaders who are about breaking those barriers that prevent us from achieving the best and reaching to the top. And the REPUBLICSLIMS platform is not about that. You see, we don't vote on finances, we vote on issues and the truth. Why vote for 4 more years of lies and deceit? Do you think we are dumb?
I'll tell you! Blacks vote lock step with democrats because of the prospect of getting more money in the form of a welfare or some other form of "help me, I'm black" check. Any other reason why 93% of blacks vote democrat is along ideological lines, which means that blacks think that democrats undertand their supposed "plight".
Today, I helped a black couple cast off from Bayside marina in Miami (FL) today. They are undoubtedly Republicans - they own their own boat (34' Sea Ray) and they were going for a sunet cruise. They had two pounds of stone crab and a bottle of sparkling wine! How fun!!! Black yachtsmen!!! I love it!!! They were so nice! They are part of the 7% blacks who vote Republican... Hint, hint...... (Vote Republican if you are successful or you are a business owner, only *haters* vote Democrat because they are jealous because they don't have as much money as you...) GO BLACK REPUBLICANS!!!!

My mother was born in 1921, they were cotton pickers. Tenant farmers. For her family, FDR saved the planet. She votes only democrat.
Education. Fear. Ignorance. Willingness. Faith. There's no one reason why blacks prefer to vote for democrats or why successful blacks tend to be Republican.
It's like asking why they built a gas station at 1st and Main instead of Main and 1st.
