Also regularly flies in chartered jets; not just small 8 seaters like mid-level executives fly, but enormous 15 seat Gulfstream V jets.
Cameron Diaz - Hates bottled water. Thinks that bottles of water are 'bad for the environment'. She has a pool large enough to quench the thirst of Africa.
Ted Kennedy - Personally forced the integration of many inner city schools with suburban schools throughout Boston. All of his kids went to exclusive private schools.
-Opposes offshore drilling in Massachusetts, yet his private yacht accidentally spilled thousands of gallons of diesel fuel in Kennebunkport. He was $fined$ big time.
Nancy Pelosi - Sponsosored a bill to raise the minimum wage in the U.S. and its territories. However, American Samoa (U.S. Territory) was left out of the proposed legislation. It was later discovered Pelosi's family owned the largest commercial fishing company on the island. What a coincidence?

As for the OP the far right has been on a 'cultural crusade' for over 40 years- anyone who advocates progressive social ideas is called an 'elitist'.
Too bad those less enlightened and 'narrow thinking' are gullible enough to buy this shopworn propaganda that has been recycled time and time again. The so called elitists like FDR- who was of patrician background saved the free enterprise system for the people & not the rich and powerful corporations- too bad the far right has done so little to look out for the common people- they have given huge tax advantages to the wealthy, blocked meaningful health care reform or over 60 years- and played 'Robin Hood' since 1980- subsidizing the well off with a form of 'socialism'-- and robbing from the poor and middle class. No when their whole little world and fabrications of lies begin to collapse they are running around like ants-it amazes me still, how anyone can call Obama with one car is an 'elitist' while McCain with 7 houses and 7 cars is not.
It seems if one is smart, looks out for other human beings and the environment is an 'elitist'- while greedy self serving brainless politicos- who serve only their masters (the oil, Insurance, mortgage and fiance companies) are real Americans.

what is a progressive social idea? why do liberals now insist on being called "progressive." is it because of the negative stigma attached to the word liberal? FDR was an elitist, and he pretty much is responsible for the nanny state. can't blame it all on him though, because every president since him could have gotten rid of all the outdated social programs he installed.
