Yeah right...it's already happening.

Socialism is not a discrete philosophy of fixed doctrine and program; its branches advocate a degree of social interventionism and economic rationalization, sometimes opposing each other. Another dividing feature of the socialist movement is the split on how a socialist economy should be established between the reformists and the revolutionaries. Some socialists advocate complete nationalization of the means of production, distribution, and exchange; while others advocate state control of capital within the framework of a market economy. Social democrats propose selective nationalization of key national industries in mixed economies combined with tax-funded welfare programs...

Thats right. Thought number 2 was rumored to have already killed pure capitalism long ago anyway.

what is happening here is not socialism, the masses will not benefit from this. this whole bailout scheme to me seems a lot more fascist, where the elites of this country (both political and financial) are bullying the american people into giving them more and more power and wealth. socialism would be if the goverment bailed out Wall St and took a controlling interest. Communism would if the government bought Wall St. outright. Neither of these things are happening.

I am looking forward to USSA.

I will just sit down and relax and all will be given to me by Obama.

Thanks, Obama!

Bailout? I think it has deviated from its core goal.

This is corporate "socialism" only because it follows a mechanica procedure similar to that which would be followed in actual solcialism.

Calling this "socialism" imakes as much sense as to use the word "Defense" to describe murdering women and children in their homes in Asia, merely because of the use of weapons intended for defense.

This isn't the first bailout. Didn't the government bail out Chrysler in the 80s? Were there any other bailouts prior to this?
