Whenever Congress is going to do something blatantly unethical, criminal, or evil, they tend to do it late at night, on a weekend or a holiday when minimum number of Americans are paying attention.

So when the big ripoff comes, it will undoubtedly be when most Americans are snuggled away asleep, driving off for the weekend vacation, etc.

So what time will your Congress give your $2000 to Goldman Sacks?

Pelosi, Franks, and several others almost dislocated their shoulders patting each other on the back. They spent several minutes gushing praise for their accomplishment in passing the bill. Grinning from ear-to-ear, Pelosi held up the signed bill for Franks to marvel at her signature.

You would have thought they just discovered toilet paper. It was probably appropro since it was the Congress that crapped all over us loosening control on Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. Of course Wall Street took advantage. You would get dizzy trying to keep track of people moving back and forth from Congress to Wall Street, taking bribes, buying votes with BS promises, and planning how to spend their severence package.

Regardless of whether you agree with the bail-out (which I don't), I find it amazing that the people in Congress that paved the way for this economic disaster, having the temerity to strut around celebrating by passing a bill that is a temporary fix. The irony is that judging from their TV performance, they are actually happy with themselves.

What if everyone who is participating in this dialog, and forwards to their friends, etc., ... sends along, let's start with one full tank of gas receipt and send it to one State senator for reimbursement to let them know we would really appreciate their support, since they 'got' our support when they got elected...that it would be really helpful so we can purchase groceries with that reimbursement; OR if we sent one of our senators our mortgage payment for reimbursement...better yet, let's send in a year of our mortgage to Goldman Sachs execs....it may not be exactly the same as our Boston Tea Party...but we have to do something....do you think that would make any difference if they were bombarded with receipts....just a fun thought...although I think we should do it, collectively...or should we bypass the senators and send them all to the White House instead? Do you really think the chief executives of these Wall Street firms even have a clue...let them learn to live on a tight budget...
