If anyone thinks that it was solely GWB that got us to this point you are solely mistaken. You can add members of our congress. Let's also not forget the American voter that put these people in office as well. People just voting their party affiliation or just basing their vote on what they see on TV commercials or our far from unbiased media.
We are all at fault for the mess this country is in. Blaming one person is not even a fair statement. We all go about our daily lives expecting someone else to take care of America's issues and just as long as things are running smoothly we give our praises. But if things in this country go in a downward twist we blame The President (one person). I don't care who is president whether they are a Democrat or a Repulican, it takes more than one person to make a mess. Just to name a few: Greed of the American people, Enron scandal, 9/11, unscrupulous bank loans. The list goes on, these are all part of the mess this country is in. Put blame where blame is due and that is on the American people.
Congress regulates and deregulates, and the president signs, or vetoes. Bush alone could not go to war without the approval of Congress. The list of the members of Congress who let Bush go to war, as well as those members who didn't, has been made public.
However, I blame Republicans and Democrats for the state of the economy today, although a majority in the board members of the lending institutions that got bailed-out last week are Democrats. Even Bill Clinton said on TV that he warned the Democrats several years ago not to oppose regulating the industry. Barney Frank was a major figure of opposition to regulating Freddie Mac.
Bush bullied everyone including the CIA into the stupid war, there are rules on the books already to regulate the banking industry - Bush just ignored them.

No, Bush tried to change the rules, rules that Clinton passed and created subprimelending

As I seem to recall, Clinton reduced the National Debt, and left us with a surplus - seems pretty responsible huh? Compare that to your bud Bush more than doubling the National Debt, and leaving us with a record debt - want to blame that on Clinton too?

Our national debt is not the cause of our financial crisis,
but subprime lending did, introduced by Clinton.
Bush tried to stop it... Get the facts
