Looks like they are going back into the closet... a nice secure, friendly place with a warm and fuzzy staff. And what is all this talk of "Pride" I am not proud to be straight, I just am... what are they so proud about?

we have public high schools for the disabled, and for able bodied people. why do gays require public funds for their own high school? just seems kind of strange. I would move if it were my tax dollars. a gay private school, I would have no problem with.

I'll venture you don't like this idea since you stereotypically assume they won't have a football team. I can't tell you how many high school athletes I've met who are now gay. I myself am in a group of several thousand gay sports fans, many of whom participate on a regular basis. Your understanding of "gay" needs adjustment. Your ending comment strikes at the heart of the biggest mistake people make: they insinuate that gay men are LESS than straight men.

I personally am leaning towards opposing this idea of a separate high school because it's that same as having a separate one for a particular race or ethnicity. The students might be comfortable but there would be limitations to the experience of learning. It won't prepare the students for the world after graduation. It smells like segregation even though well-intentioned. On the other hand, having been there myself and experiencing the fear and loathing from my classmates, a safe location would have been a welcome respite.

I guess they are finally understanding that they are indeed different/abnormal from the bulk population and that they require a special atmosphere in order to flourish. I agree, there should be no public funding for people to feel comfy and happy... disabled schooling is different, they require special care... If I were gay I think it would be humiliating to go to that school... just proves they can't handle the real world.

no, I don't like the idea. like I said, a private school is fine, but this annoys me. I agree with you that it's no different than opening up a school for a particular race. I have no problem with private schools being segregated if they choose. my understand of gay doesn't need adjustment. your understanding of sarcasm and humor does.

Wow, baseless generalizations with absolutely no substance save your blatantly obvious "distaste". Are you sure you're not repressing some inner feelings? Hmm? Making you a bit bitter are they?
